Game Boy Chrispus

This was a fun little project. Not that hard, since I've already done it on a GBP and the GBA gives easier power. Still fun, though. The purple isn't very dark; I've also got clear blue, clear orange, and clear green to try.

Picked up a Monoprice Select Mini v2 to use while my bigger printer is florpin' away at long jobs, and damned if the little bastard doesn't do a tremendous job. I mean for, what, $160 on sale? Nice. The last time I bought a "cheapie second 3d printer" it was the Da Vinci almost three years ago, which I hated for reasons that were mostly, admittedly, ideological. Now I can do dumb things with much greater efficiency. All thanks to Weichai Power! I mean, probably.

Tule fog days make for good commutes. Bike along the creek, good music, wacky fog lighting? Okay.



 

Actual True Story.

Really nice hike. This was Stevens Trail, down to the North Fork of the American River. In the morning, the valley was filled with mist, which burned off by the time I got to the bottom.

I've wasted my life?

When we first moved here, one of my favorite things about California was the large difference in smell that a small distance in travel can make. Wales has a lot to recommend itself (chiefly, the bacon), but unless you're in one of the south-east's more urinique areas, the whole country smells like a similar mix of animals and the sea.  The Coast Range around the Bay has a smell -- eucalyptus mixed with burning VC cash? -- that's very evocative.
